Lockable center door fix

Is there a fix out yet for the center cubby door that falls open when the vehicle is locked?

RE: Lockable center door fix

Mine has done it maybe 4 or 5 times so far. The dealer hadn't heard of it yet.

So this storage compartment has a spring loaded door that drops when the car is locked? If it does not drop when the car is locked, does it open when the car is unlocked? Are many others having this issue?

RE: Lockable center door fix

Mine sometimes falls open when the car is being locked. This compartment is supposed to lock when the car is locked, so something with the locking mechanism isn't quite right, I guess.

Mine is doing it too - have to take it in for service - glad to know it's not just mine - strangest thing.

I will also find the compartment door open sometimes when I get in the car. I don't know exactly when it happens, but I did see it open once when I closed the door.

I have to admit that I didn't know the compartment door locked when the car doors locked.

My car did the same thing when I got three weeks ago, I took it back the dealer and they were able to fix. My car was made in May, so I assume it something that happens on early builds.

I don't have a current subscription to the Jag online database TOPIX but there's an article under Bulletins->Field Actions-> Stowage box lid that I think covers this, get your dealer to check

cheers

RE: Lockable center door fix

I received a letter from my dealer yesterday about this. They referred to it as "Service Action K185 - Stowage Box Lid" and it applies to all Jaguar F-Types.

They said bring the car in and they will fix the problem. They estimated that it would take 30 minutes.

I just got the letter too. Nice to see they're being proactive about something that isn't safety related.
