I recently purchased new seats to replace the extremely overweight stock ones. Currently stage 3 and want to shed all unnecessary weight. When I removed the passenger seat the car would not start or allow me to use the accessory mode. I reconnected the seat and it restored back to normal. Is this a safety feature due to the airbag in the stock seat? How do I bypass this?

Must be weight/pressure sensors in the seat that allow the circuit to complete while checking occupancy. If you are tearing the seats out, you might consider stripping the seat down to frame to find the electronics.
