4-cylinder F-Type spied?

Rumors about a four-cylinder Jaguar F-Type have been floating around for months and our spies have finally caught a mysterious prototype which could be powered by an entry-level engine.

Snapped undergoing testing in southern Europe, the F-Type has been equipped with a revised hood that suggests there could be a new engine residing underneath. Nothing is official but our spies believe it is the long-rumored four-cylinder.

Jaguar has been coy about additional engine variants but the model could have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 240 HP (177 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque. This is significantly less than the current entry-level model which has a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 - that develops 340 HP (250 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque - but it should be notably cheaper.
