I haven't had a problem with the vent.

Do you mean the vent doesn't raise from the dash all the way or the air seems to be partially blocked when it comes out of the vent?

Sorry for the delay, been out to country. The vent doesn't rise up from the dash but about 1". I have to pull it up by hand.

Mine would rise up all but about 1-2mm.

But then it failed completely and got stuck in the open position. Functionally this really isn't a big deal but it still needs to be repaired. Jag USA says they've seen "a couple" such failures in North America and that repair requires partial disassembly of the dashboard.

Mine is going in for repairs in November.

If yours is not quite perfect it might be en route to failure since maybe it's rubbing on something etc and is getting stressed, or has a faulty motor.

Yes mine is in shop right now having center vent assembly being replaced. It occasionally would not fully close - was proud a half-inch at times.
