Just got a 2014 f type v8 car. Is there any way to find out if the computer has been updated to stop burning gas in the exhaust to make the popping sound. If I don't have it will the dealership charge me to get it updated ? No reason to have a annoying exhaust and damaged catalytic converters. Thanks.

I hate to say it, but you might have to call a dealership about charging you for the update. I wouldn't think that they would, but nothing surprises me anymore. A phone call costs nothing.

I understand your concern but you might have considered a Honda or Lexus as the pops and engine noise is a large part of the character of this car. Just saying...

Not into the rice burners or needless popping that will damage cats and O2 sensors. But thanks for the advice.
