We were lucky enough to have put a deposit down at our dealership in October. The orders for the F Type opened January 28 at noon EST in the USA. Our order was placed within the dealership alotment of 7 that day. Our order shows a tentative build starting the second week of May and expected delivery to customer of June 25, 2013. According to the order print out the dates are tentative until Monday April 1.Effed said:I am not surprised by the delay. Bringing a new car to market is an incredible feat of logistics.
PS This was in an e-mail directly from Jaguar Corp NJ dated January 28 (2013), to answer a question I had:sbourne said:I was told by my dealer today that F-Types on order now will be delivered in July. This seems later than Jaguar had originally indicated.
Response today March 1 from Jaguar:kram said:PS This was in an e-mail directly from Jaguar Corp NJ dated January 28 (2013), to answer a question I had:sbourne said:I was told by my dealer today that F-Types on order now will be delivered in July. "I just saw a bulletin that said the order call is opening noon EST today, so it should have just opened."

(TP04) Cirrus/Jet with Cirrus Stitch: N/C
(LKG) Satellite Grey: $600
(B55C) Performance Seat: $1,500
(Z61H) Premium Pack 1: $3,000
For what it's worth as of 3/8/13 my most recent build sheet shows:
Order Created Date: 2/2/13
Last Date of Order Change: 4/9/13
Factory Complete Date: 5/22/13
Accepted Build Date: 5/1/13
Current Planned Build Date: 5/1/13
Requested Delivery Date: 7/8/13
Accepted Delivery Date: 7/8/13
Current Planned Delivery Date: 7/8/13
Note the factory complete and delivery dates have improved by about 27 days form my initial build sheet. Seems to me it might be possible for Jaguar to even improve the schedule further - at least it's trending the right way.
SWEET, I have a message into my dealer to find out if my order delivery date has been bumped up too.............DJS said:FYI, I too was quoted a 6/26 delivery date in the Boston area. However, my dealer just said delivery was pushed up a couple of weeks, although he didn't give me the exact date.
I ordered in March, but I was able to spec a car the dealer already had on order. They're getting a static display car tomorrow, which ill be checking out. I think they'll get their launch cars towards the end of the month.
V6S, Salsa Red.
The cars that left last week were UK cars I think......... any cars that may have already left for the US are "spec" cars that were on line with general specs that are show/sell cars for dealers. I was told directly by my dealer and verified by Jaguar Corp (NJ) that dealer order vehicles would be in the second shipment. In other words anything the dealers ordered or could modify would be in the second shipments. I was told up front that we WOULD NOT get the first vehicle(s) into the dealership unless we were willing to accept a spec vehicle. US dealers should get their first (spec) vehicles the last week of May or early June and ORDERED vehicles would be the next vehicles to arrive.DJS said:FYI, my dealer said that the east coast cars arrive in Newark, where they do final assembly (US spec stuff, etc.) I saw an article that cars left the JLR Castle Bromwich plant last week - could have been our cars! (End of the video shows them being driven onto a train.)

Just my opinion because I don't know the actual dealership stacking on the orders, but my vehicle was supposed to be in the first batch on the line after the spec vehicles. Yours was probably somewhere in that batch also and could be as much as 5 working days earlier or later than mine. If you got a BUILD print out from your dealer it will give you the status with the most important date to look at: Order Last Amended which will show you when it came off the line and considered "Order Built". As the info from Jag (Corp) noted that order built does not mean ready to ship..... also the new Current Planned Delivery Date will show you a "SAFE" date to transfer the vehicle to the customer. My dealer noted that date is put on there for vehicle inspections/corrections once the vehicle arrives which could be 7-10 days before that date.DJS said:Interesting. Much of what my dealer told me agrees with your info. They're getting spec cars in a week or two, and gave me the option to get one of those, but one's a V8 (which I'm not interested in), and the other is a V6S in Salsa Red (like mine on order), but it has $10K more in options than mine. Too much!
But the dealer said his spec cars were already in the US. He thought my car was probably off the line already, and delivery would be 4-5 weeks (train to port, ship to Newark, final assembly, transport to destination.)
He said April 11 was the rough delivery date. Hope he's right!
Doh! Correct. I haven't gotten any build sheets from the dealer, I just email him every week asking if the delivery has changed. He said June 11 was more of a window rather than an exact date, which I think agrees with your info.kram said:You note April 11 as the rough delivery, but I assume you mean June 11???? Correct????

My dealer had a white preproduction V6S on display for a few days, which I got to see last weekend. I'm not usually a fan of white, but it looked great. A few things were broken on the car, but it's lived a tough life between shows and dealer displays. Cool to see it in person. The trunk is a joke, but I didn't feel like bringing my golf clubs in to see how they'd fit. Felt great sitting in it, though it had the performance seats and I'm getting the sports seats with full leather.
