DJS,

That seems similar to what is going on with mine. It got here to the US quick, but has just been sitting at the port. I'm not sure if it is the import facility being overloaded or something with the vehicle. My salesman said that if there is a "problem" they would hold the cars at the facility and the change(s) to all the cars would be done there. He used an example that a while back they had a problem with faulty battery cables and those vehicles (didn't specify model) were held at the facility and the changes were done there. It sounds a little strange to me, but mine has been sitting there about 10 days now, so....... My salesman is off today, so I do not find out until tomorrow where mine will stand with the "expected delivery" of 6/16. But it should still beat my original 6/27 delivery date, I HOPE!

Kind of crazy, I thought by ordering I would get one of the first ones, lol. Now it looks like I'm moving towards the middle of the pack with the 7000 est of 2014 models. A majority of those were outside the US because they were released in Europe first, but still............... lol.

If the dealer had one I liked, I would have bought it. They have a Salsa Red V6S, but with red interior and black wheels. I think the red interior looks lousy with Salsa Red - they clash. Plus this car has $10K more in options than mine. They also have a Firesand V8S, and a black V8S. (Haven't heard if they've sold any of those yet.)

Still waiting for the dealer to give me an update. It's pouring rain (again), so I'm not too distraught I don't have it yet. But I was hoping to have it for this weekend.

Well DJS,

Consider yourself lucky, at least your vehicle has been approved to load and should be arriving soon. My salesman said the pipeline for my vehicle had not changed. They called the Jaguar rep at the port who has the exact locations and were told my vehicle/ship had actually not arrived at the port yet (coding issue), it was due in two days. It would then need to clear customs/inspections and would not be to the dealership until week after next. Somewhere close to my original delivery date of 6/27. SUCKS! I wish they never would have "updated" my delivery to 6/16 ........................ anyway now it looks like I am still 10 days or so away from my delivery.

Kram,
Sometimes too much information is a bad thing. But we can't help ourselves, can we? My dealer confirmed mine is on the way, and could come in tonight. However, the dealership can't close on it over the weekend while the DMV is closed. I'm hoping/expecting to pick it up Monday after work, though the dealer won't commit until he sees the car.

Sorry they gave you bad info. That sucks.

On June 5th my salesman indicated to me:
They tell us to say the week of 6/12. Delays are 4 days at most. But we are at the mercy of the longshoremen who get the cars from the ship to the Trucks & then the truck drivers from the port to the dealer. It is not an exact science.
As of Jun 14, 2013 my pipeline report remains unchanged the e.g. "Planed Date to Intermediate Destination" still "6/12/13".

I hope it's not "stuck" in customs or backlogged at the port.

I am thinking pickup will be sometime next week with any luck.

Yes DJS, sometimes too much information is a bad thing. I do not really understand why Jag bumped up my expected delivery to 6/16 on the reports. If they would have just left it as it was originally scheduled on my reports and it comes in sometime around the 27th I would have been happy. It just causes too many ups and downs to have it bumped up (the report still says the 16th) only to have the port rep say it will actually be closer to the 27th...................

Anyway it is what it is...........

My car finally showed up at the dealer today. I'm hoping I can pick it up tomorrow. In other news, my salesman is no longer with the company. Too bad, I thought he was pretty good.

I now know that mine is onboard the "Tongala." Being a sailor, a quick internet search shows it just pulled into Panama at the entrance to the canal today. Typically it takes a day to transit the canal and 7-8 days from the Canal to Port Hueneme to my 6/26 arrival looks accurate.

GerryJag & SoCal Dave,

If either of you gets a copy of a new Build Report or the "Pipeline" print out give us a new update on expected delivery date and the current status of your vehicles........... have they made it to the US Port of destination?
I just got a "Pipeline" printout looks a lot like my prior "Build Reports" looks like it was completed on 5/14/13 (6 days earlier than the prior est. of 5/22/13)

So imy car's now in transit to a US port with arrival in 7 days on 6/12/13 to USNTD which is Port Hueneme, California (66 miles from my dealership).

Requested Delivery Date 7/8/13
Accepted Delivery Date 7/8/13
Accepted Build Date 5/1/13
Current Planned Delivery 6/21/13
Current Planned Build Date 4/29/13
Order Created Date 2/2/13
Order Last Amended 5/23/13
Factory Complete Date 5/14/13
Planned Date to Intermediate Destination 6/12/13
Common Status Point SHIPPED
Brand Status Point Shipped (SHIPPED)
Intermediate Destination Code USNTD
Intermediate Destination Description USNTD
Destination Code 05537
Destination Description Rusnak / Pasadena
I don't know anything about customs delays at arrival ports like Port Hueneme for cars or the actual dealer prep time when it gets to my dealership.

Got to check out the car last night, though I elected not to drive it as t-storms had just rolled through and it was wet. Mineral interior looks good with the Salsa Red.

This was the first time I saw the propeller wheels that I spec'd, and I thought they look better than I expected. The silver Tornadoes that Kram is getting are my favorite, but I didn't want 20" wheels.

Walking around the car reinforced my opinion that the exhaust tips on the V6S look much, much better than those on the V8S.

I got the sport seats in partial leather, and while they don't wrap you quite as much as the performance seats, they seemed comfortable enough, and they don't look quite as extreme.

The door locking is pretty cool. With the key fob in your pocket, just push in the door handle and it locks, and the mirrors retract. If the key fob is more than a few feet away, the horn chirps and it won't lock. Slick.

Well, finally some good news! I bugged my dealer this morning for an update. My salesman said they had asked Jag/port last week for the vehicle to be put on priority status since it was sold and the vehicle was behind the updated delivery date. The ship arrived Sunday, the vehicle was unloaded and pushed thru customs and completed inspection and is already on the transport truck waiting for a driver to leave the yard. My dealership was issued the invoice (only issued when ready to transport), so he feels it will be here in a few days! I may still make the weekend delivery!

The eagle has landed. Drove back from the dealer with the top down, but of course, it's raining now. Should be clear for the drive home, though. Then I get to figure out all electronics, program the garage door opener, etc. etc. I'll post pictures when we have picture-taking weather.

The ship is coming through the Miraflores locks right now on WebCam! Pretty amusing to see that from my desk. It's the big orange car carrier.

Funny, I just clicked on your link, and there's a ship in the locks that clearly isn't a car carrier. I think I'm an hour after you posted your link - you're car is in the Pacific by now. Well, on, not in.

I've been to the Miraflores locks - there's a big viewing stand there. Very cool.

That's available in the vehicle configurator on the Jaguar website for $450. I thought about it briefly.

Enjoyed the roof down this morning, though it was in the upper 50s. Heated steering wheel was useful. Haven't had a chance to have it over 60 or so, but I'm doing a bit of road trip tomorrow.

I have it parked in a corner of the lot here at work, with the roof down. There's been a steady stream of people checking it out.
