Is this on the 2014 V8S, do you know? Also you didn't mention trac control, on or off, stability control on or off. All I know is that if I left foot brake and step on the gas, it will incinerate the rear tires and leave 50+ ft of rubber on the road. I do use left foot braking on the drag strip with DSC off, but am judicious with the gas to control wheel spin for the fastest times. thanksYes it is in the manual. Dynamic mode- steering wheel straight ahead, brake with left foot and rev to 2500 rpms. Menu will flash Launch control active-Step off the brake and drop the hammer. Actually very user friendly and easy to use real world.
from what i've read the V8 does NOT have launch control..only the V6 S F type....Is this on the 2014 V8S, do you know? Also you didn't mention trac control, on or off, stability control on or off. That would explain why I have never seen any display then.from what i've read the V8 does NOT have trac control..only the V6 S F type....
That's correct. I talked to the top technical engineer at Jaguar USA regarding the same issue, and for some unknown reason, Launch Control is only available with the V-6 F-Types and not the V-8's in 2014. Go figure??That would explain why I have never seen any display then.
I tried it on my 2014 v8 just to see and all it did was load up the torque converter at about 1500 rpm which is not a good thing to do too often. It did rocket away though with little wheel spin and I gradually depressed the accelerator to ease in the power until it hit second then floored it. Far less drama than a normal hard take offThat's correct.
