Electrical Malfunction

I am almost sick to my stomach, had my 2016 f type 5 weeks and today on my way home the cat freaked out electrically. I first got a message that the gear box had a fault and then so many other issues and warnings started I couldn't process them all on the road. Battery charging failure, blind spot monitoring, and then the engine light came on. The car alerted me to some type of limited performance. It wouldn't go over 60...which was some type of computer enforced mode...lucky I could get off the highway. I was able to get home, i have to take it to the dealer Monday. After it sat for a little bit I restarted it and it was fine....no errors at all. One thing I read is that electrical/computer issues aren't covered under warranty. Does anyone know if that is true? I am starting to go down a pretty ugly path in my mind.

Thx

Something similar happened to me. I have a 2014 jaguar F type transmission light went on that it went off parking brake went on that it went off low battery sign went on I took it to advance auto parts have battery checked and it needed to be replaced. With new battery all those symptoms have gone away. Hope this helps it’s definitely a cheap fix. My battery was about $220
I had a similar problem with my 17 F Type SVR. The backup camera, blindside monitors, garage door opener, and front parking brake warning buzzer all quit working at the same time. Everything else was fine and car continued to be a beast. But I bought the car at a dealer and I had 8 months of original factory warranty, and wanted the stuff to work. I did pay for a car that worked. After two long stays at the deal totaling 87 day, they finally did what it told them the first day. They replaced the fuse box that is by the drivers left knee and the the wiring bundle that went to it. Problem solved. I am now under a one years Certified Pre Owned Warranty and I have been led to believe this does not cover as much as a new car warranty.

First think I would do is check if all the malfunctioning systems are on the same fuse box. Then you have several options:
1.) Buy a new one. But if this not the problem the dealer will not take the electrical component back.
2.) Find a used one. This will be cheaper but there will be the chance the used one is defective too.

My dealer spent over $15,000 fixing my SVR. $11,000 was for a Mustang Convertible for 87 days. I don't know what a fuse box cost. The one near the drivers knee is a smaller one.

That's my experience. Now I have all parts working and I am still loving my Jag.

Good luck

Bill
