F Type rear quarter panel replacement

Hi all,

New to the forums and wanted to say hi! I also have a question.

I'm looking at a 2017 F-Type in an auction with some rear passenger-side damage. It looks like someone's swiped it and the passenger door and rear quarter will 100% need replacing. The door I'm happy with, simply swap out, the rear qtr I'm not sure. Does anyone know if a replacement panel bolts onto the frame or if the panel needs to be drilled out and then spot-welded back in place?

Regards and thanks in advance,

Col

Welcome to the forums. So I went out to look on my own 2017 F type to see how extensive it would be to replace the rear quarter panel. The part itself isn't just the lower panel but it includes the A and C pillars and part of the roof line as well as the door frame. You'd need to remove the rear glass and wheel well also. Aside from that, I don't see any welded spots to connect the part to the main body.

I recently took off my left front quarter panel and it was just a series of bolts and trim. It might be safe to assume that it would be the same for the back panel, but I just don't know for sure.

Here's the link the parts diagram. Scroll down a bit to see the coupe schematic.

I hope that helps a bit and you buy an F-type!
