I just picked up a revised copy of my order from my dealer and my Status now shows "Order Being Built". My original accepted buid date was shown as 5/1/13 and as of today my order was revised to Order Being Built so I am assuming my chassis/frame is on the assembly line as scheduled!!!!!!

Is yours a V6 or V8?
I heard that the North American V6s were started this week, and V8s would be next week.

I did not know that distinction and yes mine is the V6.

So have you been able to confirm that they successfully finished your car last week?
If so, is it on a boat yet?
Thanks

According to my order the anticipated build start was May 1 and anticipated completion was/is May 22. The order changed status to indicate the build started on the 1st as scheduled, but I am not 100% sure what "start" means. Getting parts/chasis ready? I don't think the actual assembly process takes 3 weeks................. I will ask my contact at Jaguar to explain the process for me and see what i can find out.

Thunder,

Here was the reply directly from Jaguar:

Hi Mark,
You should be excited knowing your car is being assembled as we speak. The best way to understand the process is to see it - Speed TV did a show on the plant a few years ago, you can watch it on Hulu here: http ://www.hulu.com/watch/222956
The show features the XK, but the build process is similar to the F-TYPE as they are both aluminum.
Best regards,

The video is a fairly good explanation (ads suck). The start to finish of 14 days explains the May 1 start and May 22 finish on my build. Then off to port and on the way to the USA for my delivery in June!!!!!
