Hello all! I have joined this forum to gather information and get owner impressions of the Type F. I must confess I am here more or less on the rebound.:s I had my heart set on the purchase of the new Corvette C-7 convertible, but regrettably (because of driveway elevation issues) I can’t get one into my garage because of its lack of ground clearance. I have only considered owning a Jaguar on one other occasion. Back in the day (1970) while I was in Viet Nam I walked into the base’s BX and there stood a guy offering to sell me an E-Type for what seemed like a really reasonable price. Had I not already previously ordered a 1971 LT-1 Corvette convertible I might have considered the Jag as a strong purchase possibility. In any case, here I am looking over your shoulder as your new rides are rolled off the boat. I will ask questions that might be considered “troll- like”, but I assure you that my intentions are honorable. I just want to get a true picture of this platform, its performance, and more importantly its quality. My hope is that as members get settled into their new cars that we can candidly talk about the good, as well as the not so good, of this new vehicle. I have been a member of several other car forums and have found a tendency of some forums & and members of, to downplay service issues, and become rather aggressive to those that want a “full disclosure” concerning those issues. I hope this is not the case here. I am really attracted to this car and perhaps it will be my next ride!

Welcome, Chip! I think we can have a useful dialog - my V6S is a week old, and while I'm having a ball with it, I have some minor complaints. Doing a road trip soon, so we'll see what I think after that.

This is my first real sports car, so I may have a different perspective than others here. But I find it very enjoyable to drive. (Had an MG Midget in high school, which is a different sort of sports car. Top speed of 90MPH, if you were going downhill.)

Have owned a few muscle cars a 1993 corvette tr-6 which I still own a Mercedes SLK 350 2008 model and now an F Type S. have had the car almost one month and could not be more pleased. Fit and finish is top notch power is adequate handles like a dream. Have driven this car six hours nonstop never tired and with top up extremely quiet. Meridian sound system not as good as was in my XF but Bowers and Wilkens is superior in my opinion . This car is far and away much better than our 93 vette. Paint is fabulous really shines with wax( six coats so far). Fuel mileage is great thirty plus mpg and by the way car has 1421 miles on her so far. A very happy customer indeed and hope this helps
