Hi all...pending owner here, and have found lots of great information already here, so thanks for that. (Have already deleted the heated windshield (radar detector issues) and the spare tire from the build as a result...Still debating on the upgraded stereo option as some seem to have had issues with that?)

Will be getting a V8, but a couple of questions if anyone can help:

- Does anyone have any pictures of one in BRG outside/in sunlight? (i.e., real pictures). A dealer here is supposedly getting one soon but as many have said, the website doesn't really give a good rendering, so wanted to see a "real" view if someone has one. Going back and forth between BRG and the Stratus Grey.

- Can you turn off the stop/start without being in dynamic mode? Seems like the answer is "no", which seems odd.

- Given that I will be ordering probably in November, with a 4 month delivery that puts me in March or April before I get it. Since this year's model came out early in the year as a '14 model, I'd hate to get a '14 and then have the 2015s come out 2 months later. So does anyone have any idea when the 2015s are due out?

Thanks in advance, and let me know if anyone is looking for a used M6 in a few months... ;)

Best,
John

Greetings from Naples. I hope I can shed some light onto your questions. Colors: on this site, in the General Discussions section you can find a newly posted Photo Gallery. Your requested BRG is pictured in that location and I believe there is a Stratus Gray one as well.
ECO on/off mode can be turned on or off while your machine is in any mode however I do believe it is turned off when you are in the Dynamic Mode. It is detected on our unit and returns to normal ECO on/off when the Dynamic Mode is released. There is a good possibility your firmware might be different upon arrival of your unit.
The only info we have seen so far is that the 2015 F-Type Coupe might be available but who needs a coupe living in Florida? This site has many very interesting F-Type drivers on board. If my information is not correct, they will correct it or expand on it. Glad to see there will be another F-Type in Sarasota, our other favorite city..... Pascha

Congrats on your pending purchase. Yes, you can turn off start/stop - there's an ECO button for that. It defaults to ON when you start the car, but you can turn it off with either the ECO button, or by putting it in Dynamic.

Gears has a BRG V8 - he lives near me, but I haven't seen it yet. Like you, I'd like to see it because the online photos can't seem to capture the color.
John, if you go to www.jaguarofnaples.com, click NEW, there is some very good photos of a newly received BRG unit with a tan rag top. Sorry to say you wanted a V8 but the colors are the same... Pascha
Thanks for the info all. Best BRG pictures I've seen so far pascha. Honestly I wasn't a big fan of the color based on the build tool on Jag's website, but it looks great in those pictures. May take a trip down there this weekend just to see this one outside. Growing up in the UK, my mum had a BRG E-type that was (obviously) beautiful. Completely different than the modern metallic BRG though.

I almost feel bad for whoever buys one with the tap top however. I've done the light-colored top thing before and unfortunately it just doesn't work long term - too much pine sap, etc. in this area. My last one looked good for about a year. Granted, that was 15+ years ago, so maybe someone has developed a better protective coat/sealer of some sort in the meantime.
John, just by chance, the local Jaguar dealer here in Naples is having their monthly Cars & Coffee sponsored by Dunkin Donuts. Hours for the event are 9 am to Noon, Saturday. 900 Tamiami Trail North, Naples 34102.
If I remember correctly, they also have a Stratus Gray unit on hand. I think the Stratus Gray gives the car a more dynamic look over the BRG. The V8 model has large black tires and a black underskirt which really adds contrast to the Stratus Gray body. I agree with you about the rag top color and trees. Down here it's the Palms that drip yellow droplets and the sap from oaks that can really stain a top or interior. Pascha
I have a BRG with black top and tan interior on order -- due to arrive in a couple of weeks on Nov 4th. I'll definitely post some photos when it arrives. I agree that the new metallic BRG is not the same as the classic BRG.
BRG is a hard color to capture in a picture because it looks different depending on the light. This one is about the best I have to show the color.

I'm meeting a BRG V8 for breakfast (along with its owner). Nice fall day here, so I'm hoping we find somewhere nice for some pictures. The camera makes a huge difference in capturing deep or bright colors - my Salsa Red is tough, but in a different way.

Hi John!

Check out the photo gallery page 2 now. DJS just posted some great photos of my BRG F-type. They are actually quite good renderings of color.

Best regards,

Gears

Thanks Gears - just took a look. Beautiful car, and you can tell pretty well what it looks like. I'm currently 51/49 on the BRG vs Status. Didn't make it down to Naples to look at theirs in person this weekend, and now it looks like the Stratus sold....

So guess I'll wait until Tampa gets theirs in and take a look.
