My F-Type V8S (BRG/Camel) showed up yesterday and I became the happy owner around 5 PM. First stop, the Jaguar Association of New England (JANE) monthly dinner, where the car got a lot of interest, questions and praises. The color is really ultra-subtle, but gorgeous. It changes with the light and intensity and just exudes an aura of well-being.
I kept the top down for the 30-mile drive home (50° F) with no pain. When the windows are up it's about as windy as a sedan with the sunroof open – very civilized.
The exhaust, especially in dynamic mode, is really a hoot. When driven gently it burbles and purrs with just enough echo and rumbling to make it clear that there's some real sauce on tap. Ease it up above 2500 rpm and there's this lovely baritone pitched voice singing.
I plan to do much research with car over the next week, and I'll report back. Pictures will also be posted later today. So far, really really ice!
Best regards,
Gears
