Jaguar has announced plans to introduce an F-Type prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Set to be driven by Mike Cross, the prototype will showcase the company's upcoming roadster that goes on sale in mid-2013.
According to Jaguar's Global Brand Director, Adrian Hallmark, "[The] Goodwood Festival of Speed is focused around the dynamic hill runs where the public can see, hear and smell the cars - this is why we have chosen it as the place to showcase an F-Type prototype. The development program is progressing with vigor and we look forward to showing the world the F-Type in production form later this year."
As we have previously reported, the F-Type will be available with a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 380 PS (279 kW / 375 hp) and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) of torque. There will also be a V8 engine, possibly a supercharged 5.0-liter unit that develops 510 PS (375 kW/ 503 hp) to 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp).
