Jaguar Taps Lana Del Rey For F-Type
It’s true. Lana Del Rey will be the face of the new Jaguar F-Type.
Executives say they chose the indie singer to front the coupe because she and the car embody the same spirit.
“The allure of Jaguar is in large part due to its duality,” said Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar’s global brand director. “She has a unique blend of authenticity and modernity, which are two values we believe are shared with Lana in her professional achievements.”
Jag has been trying hard lately to get in with a cool set of buyers. Last week it hosted a press conference at the trendy Standard Hotel before walking journalists across Chelsea’s Highline to a frozen igloo skate rink where Tracy Morgan and Johnny Weir entertained guests. The dome was open for public skating after the event, which was meant to launch Jaguar’s new all-wheel-drive systems.
Now it’s on to the F-Type, the key piece in Jaguar’s reinvention as a relevant luxury brand. The company is hoping F-Type will form a beautiful and modern sequel to its iconic E-Type.
The new car will debut at the Paris Motor Show next month.
