I'm about to do my first oil change on my 2015 F Type R. It's a weekend and trips driver but I do a lot of "spirited" driving, Dynamic Mode and Paddle Shifting. So, is the OEM oil filter the best choice or is there a better filter and is 0W20 the best oil? 0W20, to me, seems to be too light weight for "spirited" driving. Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated.

Jaguar likely has another company make their filters for them, Mann, Wix, etc. so any premium filter should do. As for oils, I use either Motul 0W20 or LiquiMoly 20410 which meet JLR 51.5122 standards. Both available through Amazon and others. Some people just use 5W20 synthetic because that is what their oil cap says on it. JLR and other oil manufacturers never offer up what additives they put in their oils. I have heard differing views on using heavier oils in hard worked motors. Thinner oil is supposed to dissipate heat better. Heavier oils increase oil pressure in hot areas or for worn engines and those with larger tolerances. If your engine is cooling properly that shouldn't be an issue. There is usually a reason why manufacturers recommend an oil spec. and viscosity. Maybe there are some racers out there that know better.
