Small Evap Leak

So, purchased a 2016 Base Coupe over a month ago. Last week, I got a message about checking the gas cap, then a couple days later, she threw a code, P0442: Very Small Evap Leak. I replaced the gas cap, cleared the code... It came back.

As I understand it, this is 100% an emissions thing and the car is safe to drive. I have an extended warranty that kicks in in about another 600 miles/2 weeks, so I'm hoping I can wait til then, in case it's something major or requires a lot of labor to access.

Anyone have an idea of what could likely be causing the issue since it's not the gas cap? Or perhaps how much I'm likely to be out of pocket, (worst case scenario,) if it's not something the warranty covers?

I’m thinking that if your check engine light doesn’t come on you should be ok. Should no way affect engine performance, but it won’t hurt to check with a Jag tech or a mech at a specialty garage.

Oh no. CEL is on because of this. It's the only way I knew to check for an error code.
