Just got back from an afternoon with the 340HP F-Type. This is a wonderful machine indeed. Well balanced and a very easy demeanor
to live with.
340 HP comes on strong if you put your foot into it. Otherwise it's personality is one of calm & poise. But it's ready for some serious fun
whenever you care to let your hair down. Where the V8 is a beast just
waiting to be freed.
A hooligan looking to take on all comers, that's the V8 and it apologizes for nothing and to no one. It doesn't have to.
The std. V6 lives life with less of a chip on it's shoulders. Quite content
with sub 6 second 0-60 times and a calmer disposition.
The boy racer in me screams "I want the Hooligan!" but I'm sure life with
the std. V6 has virtues that will make it shine in the long run as well.

Very well written and quite accurate in the comparison of the two models. Also keep in mind, the middle model which has 380 HP is no more then a program in the engine chip set. (not counting all the other bells and whistles). I believe by next year, an off market chip set will be available to increase the 340 HP to 380 HP if one desires, just a bit more of a rush without sounding like a Harley. Pascha

I like them very much. Here in the Northeast, I drive on some good roads, and some not-so-good roads. While I generally like to leave Dynamic Mode on, if the road is a bit rough I may switch it off, and the difference is noticeable. (I have 19" wheels.)

Overall, though, I think the ride is excellent with Dynamic Mode on.

I have the V6S. The adjustable damping, makes a big difference in my opinion, and the extra 40HP and larger wheels don't hurt either. Plus, if I remember right, some of he other doodads that are standard on the S cost extra on the base model. Given all, I think the S is worth it, but definitely a matter of personal preference.
