Hi guys,

I'm about to put in my order for my V6S F-Type and I'm having a bit of a dilemma. Price notwithstanding, what are the pros and cons of upgrading to 20" wheels and should I expect any gain in steering feel?

It migh be relevant (or not) to point out that the wheels in question are the 20" Cyclone Silver model.

Thank you so much for your help!

Andre

P.S: Just for the fun of it I'm polling this subject as well.

I have the standard 19" Propeller wheel on my V6S, and I'm perfectly happy with them. I live in New England, where the roads are not consistently smooth, so there's no way I'd go with the 20" wheels. But if you live in a part of the country without potholes and frost heaves, then they may be fine. If you'll be tracking it, then the 20" may be good. Not for me, though.

I find the ride to be just about perfect around here with the 19" wheels.

Hi DJS,

Thank you for your feedback. I actually live in Portugal, roads are usualy in good condition compared to the UK. But still, I would say ride quality is of medium priority (not the most important thing, but relevant nonetheless). Interestingly enough its precisely the 19" Propeller design we're also considering (my wife actually prefers it to the Cyclone).

Regards, Andre

Andre,
Actually, I'm in the northeast US - we have tough winters here, which leads to some bad road surfaces. The concern with a 20" wheel is that you can damage the rim (and/or get a flat tire) if you hit a bad pothole or uneven pavement. I haven't hit anything like that yet, but I just couldn't see the benefit of the 20" rim here.
